12-03, 17:30–19:00 (UTC), Data/ Data Science Track
Geospatial data is more important than ever for tackling real-world challenges like urban planning and climate change. This tutorial teaches you how to use tools like CesiumJS and Python to turn raw data into interactive 3D visuals. It’s a hands-on way to bring data to life and try to make an impact.
The session will begin with an introduction to CesiumJS and its capabilities, followed by a quick overview of the Python libraries we will use, and then a guided step-by-step hands-on coding focused on the processing of geospatial data. The tutorial will end with the processed datasets transformed into 3D formats, integrated into, and visualized by CesiumJS.
Outline:
1. 3D visualization (Cesiumjs), Data with Python
2. Data acquisition and processing
3. Data loading in cesiumjs
4. Implementing features using Python and Cesiumjs
5. Enhancing visualizations and additional data layers
6. Deployment
The session wraps up with a review of key concepts, additional resources for learning, and guidance on extending projects.
